Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Answers to questions you might have!

Can you help me get an agent?

I self-represent and would likely be of very little help to you in getting an agent. You’ll also likely hear me recommend getting an attorney who specializes in literary matters rather than an agent. It’ll cost less.

Will you help me get my Star Trek novel published?

No, but I will cheer you on every step of the way.

Would you be willing to collaborate with me on this great idea I have?

No. Ideas are cheap; execution of that idea is what matters. If you have an idea for a story, write the story. I will cheer you on.

Will you read my manuscript?

Unless you’re hiring me as a copy editor or proofreader, no. There is a remote possibility your story may be something vaguely related to something I’m writing, and in the litigious-happy world we live in, I don’t want to get accused of stealing someone else’s work.

Who or what is Scribe Ineti?

In the mid-90s, when I was getting my feet wet writing professionally, I wrote the draft of a screenplay based on the life of Hatshepsut, one of the few female rulers of ancient Egypt. One of the supporting characters in the screenplay was a scribe named Ineti, and for some reason that name stuck and I use it a lot online.

What is Ineti Press?

Ineti Press is my publishing imprint, currently publishing my own works. At some point, I’ll likely start publishing other writers’ work in a variety of formats and schemes.
